Learning the Language of Art
Colored Wax Pencil Drawings
Art was a second career for Gary Bachers and he pursued it with the same passion as he did his first. Against all odds he survived a devastating stroke at the prime of his life. The stroke left him with expressive aphasia, robbing him of the ability to converse or to write as well as leaving him without use of his right side. The transition from physician to artist would not be an easy one but he painstakingly trained his left hand to create award winning colored pencil works that are brilliant and vivid, masterfully created. His art became his language. These works often challenge any preconceptions the viewers have about pencil works. For Bachers, it truly was the art of living!
